As investment advisors, our responsibility
requires that we learn and discuss all relevant information pertaining
to client circumstances.
We only collect the information we need
for the purposes of providing and servicing your financial needs.
Some of the information we collect may include net worth, income,
credit information, date of birth, social insurance number, health
information including lifestyle and occupation, and marital status.
Financial
needs can be in the form of recommending suitable and appropriate
investments that may include insurance. Financial
needs can be in the form of creating and implementing a formal financial
plan using these products.
We
request this information to help identify short and long term goals, and
to assist in the recommendation of only products and/or services that
are appropriate and suitable, confirm identification, and satisfy
regulatory compliance.
If you
have provided your consent to a BFI representative, we may use this
information to provide you with information about additional products,
and/or services we believe to be appropriate to your personal situation.
We may
transfer the personal information we collect to appropriate third party
service providers. These service providers could be
insurance companies, investment companies, and trustees.
We do not sell your personal information.
We will
only collect personal information with your consent.
This consent may be withdrawn at anytime. We are
responsible for personal information under our control and have specific
physical and electronic procedures in place for the care, and
safekeeping of this information. Only BFI employees
who have a need to review this information will be given access.
We endeavor to ensure that all information used is accurate and
kept up to date.
Information will be kept as long as needed, or as required by law or for
regulatory compliance reasons.
